Cadilhe & Santos participates in the NetTag+ project

The NetTag+ project kicked off last July 2023 with the active participation of Cadilhe & Santos to transform the paradigm of the fishing industry.

According to the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research at the University of Porto (CIIMAR-UP), “the NetTag+ project aims to develop innovative, intelligent, and sustainable solutions to tackle the negative impacts of fishing on marine habitats and biodiversity”.

With the motto “Prevent, Avoid, and Mitigate”, the European NetTag+ project aims to develop solutions in these three main areas, which focus mainly on abandoned, lost or discarded fishing gear.

«The NetTag+ project aims to develop innovative, intelligent, and sustainable solutions to tackle the negative impacts of fishing on marine habitats and biodiversity.»

Through the NetTag+ project, the international consortium to prevent and reduce marine litter resulting from fishing aims to change the industry’s paradigm and modify society’s perspective on the role of the fishing sector, empowering fishermen as Guardians and Cleaners of the Ocean.
