The NetTag+ project kicked off last July 2023 with the active participation of Cadilhe & Santos to transform the paradigm of the fishing industry.
According to the Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research at the University of Porto (CIIMAR-UP), “the NetTag+ project aims to develop innovative, intelligent, and sustainable solutions to tackle the negative impacts of fishing on marine habitats and biodiversity”.
With the motto “Prevent, Avoid, and Mitigate”, the European NetTag+ project aims to develop solutions in these three main areas, which focus mainly on abandoned, lost or discarded fishing gear.
